On My Path to Success (as typed from a client's handwritten note)
Who would ever thought that we would be in this position. Homeless. When it happened, denial set in. I knew it wouldn't be easy.
I never knew it would be so hard and take so long. I started to feel like we were doomed. The world was treating us unkind. As time passed, my emotions started to change. My anger, changed to hope. I know this all happened for a reason. I may have never gotten the chance to attend school if we didn't become homeless. I'm thankful. I am presently seeking my CNA certification. In time I plan to further my education and become a registered nurse. My motivation is my family. they give me the strength to acheive my goal of becoming a great provider for all of us. Enduring the hardships is going to make my success feel much sweeter. In time, I plan on stabilizing employment and housing for my family. One step at a time though. I don't want to take steps back. I'm thankful for all of the assistance I have received at HFC. The staff has helped me become steadfast on acheiving my goals. Many have told me to take the good and build upon that. The climb is getting easier. I'll make it to the top soon though. With strong will, determination, and dedication, I know that success is coming to me.
